Concentration
My concentration is of fears. From the top to the bottom these are my interpretations: Prisons, Sleep, Dark, Germs, Imperfection, Spiders, Being alone, Heights, Bridges, Men, Clocks, Mouth. I enjoyed using a variety of techniques as well as media for my three drawings. Im not fully content with the photos but I feel that some Photos are well done

Concentration Re-works
The first two pieces have been re-worked and the third piece is my third and most likely final drawing in my concentration. I tinted the clouds red in the first work but kept the silo black and white. For my second photo, I changed it two black and white and then tinted the water red similar to the sky in the first one. I drew the third one and put a cut out filter over it.

Concentration Check Point
Commentary
For my concentration, I decided to do Fear Of.. but incorporate a variety of medias and models. I feel that my central idea; although unoriginal, is becoming a solid series of 12 photos. I currently have 6 works of art: 4 photos and 2 drawings in my series. I am currently working on my third and final drawing for the concentration and still questioning on how to properly incorporate them. The drawings consist of pens, pencils, and markers while the photos are fairly pure other than simple lighting and contrast adjustments. I have Fear Of.. loneliness, needles, height, dark, men, and sleeping. I have a few of my others picked out but still deciding on which fears to use. I believe that most people will be able to relate to one or more of these fears and if not can relate their own fears to one of the 12.

Weekly Challenge: Opposites
This is at an abandoned barn on Huron between 144th and 136th. It is suppose to be about fashion and the rustic feel of the color white. I changed the contrast and specifically made the sky more blue to help with the color scheme.

Silk Painting
On an AP scale I would give myself a 3.
3.A There is some successful use of the elements of design, but the investigation of their
application to 2-D design principles is emerging and narrow in scope.
3.F The work is uneven, but overall it demonstrates emerging technical competence and use of
materials and media.
3.D The work may show attempts at experimentation and/or risk-taking, but with limited
success.

Somewhere in Boulder
This was taken while on our field trip in boulder. Im hoping with a couple of more adjustments I will be able to use it as my picture of Fear of Being Alone for my phobia concentration.

Weekly Challenge 6
This was created in Adobe Illistrator but I chose to write the word instead of use the text box. I tried to make it similar to some graffiti. I did this by shaping or molding each letter to the next one. It turned out fairly well but would have liked more time to work with it.

Weekly Challenge 5
This is fried icecream I got when we went to Hacienda Colorado for my moms birthday. I am proud to say I ate it by myself. I upped the contrast and darkened the photo. I also added a vinette and dropped its opasity down.

Narrative Story
This artwork was created from the idea or phobia of being scared of needles and shots. I
decided to draw this becuase of the time of season and how everyone is going to get their flushots and other vaccinations. I used grpahite, marker, and a fine pen in creating this before I scanned this in and adjusted the colors some in photoshop.

Weekly Challenge 4- Smoke
This took forever to do, but I froze both the wine glass and the other glass for 15 minutes, wrapped 8 matches in tin foil so the smoke would have to fall downward into the cup. It took me quite a few tries to make the smoke visible enough to be seen in the photo. I blacked out the background so the smoke is more visible.

Weekly Challenge 3
My task was to create an image with symbols and gradients only. I used two separate grids and then free transformed them into the pattern you see above. The two arrows pointed at eachother resemble confusion and my background came last and not first.
